Yoast SEO and the Art of Brightening Up Your Webpage

Yoast SEO is considered by many to be the best plugin for WordPress, and in fact, there are over 10 million websites running it at this very moment. Still,

it’s easy to get lost in the dizzying amount of settings Yoast has to offer and how they can affect your search rankings. Thankfully, in this article, we’ll explore all the different lights that Yoast has to offer and how to use them effectively. So let’s get brightening!

Increasing page load speed

If you’re serious about your page load speed, then Yoast SEO is worth checking out. It’s one of our favorite (and most well-known) WordPress plugins for a number of reasons:

it makes search engine optimization easier, helps prevent duplicate content issues, allows for XML sitemaps to be created with ease, provides access to advanced debugging tools and increases user engagement.

In short, Yoast SEO puts everything you need to craft high-quality webpages at your fingertips — including how many lights are on in Yoast SEO . Adding just another piece to its already impressive list of features, Yoast recently released a plugin that allows site owners not only to see how many lights are on but also what they’re used for.

Improving your website's readability

Typography plays a crucial role in web design, because first impressions do matter. Typography doesn't just define your brand, it also affects your website's usability.

If you're using a popular CMS such as WordPress or Joomla, there are plenty of plugins available that will allow you to enhance your site's typographic qualities by making font size adjustments and adjusting line-height.

One Yoast SEO feature you might want to take advantage of is their readability analysis. Their free plugin for WordPress allows you to analyze and adjust all these aspects of your site - though it is best for users with intermediate knowledge of CSS / HTML code as some customization is required.

Having solid social media accounts boosts your credibility

After all, if you want to be seen as an industry expert or someone who’s worth reading, you need to be accessible. That means a blogger should have some social media accounts like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

We’re not saying that every blogger needs to create 20 social media accounts just to make readers think they’re cool; but at least have one account on each network where you can interact with your followers and answer questions.

Having multiple social media accounts won’t affect your credibility unless they all look spammy (which they don’t in your case). Also, having accounts doesn't mean you necessarily have to update them regularly.

Have a CTA on every page!

If you run a website, chances are you've heard about Yoast SEO. This plugin makes it easier to optimize your site for search engines, so everyone from web design students to professional SEO experts tends to love it.

Although Yoast SEO does a lot for free, there's a pro version that will teach you how to get even more out of Yoast. One tip I learned along the way is having a call-to-action on every page - like an opt-in form or a link back to your homepage.

You'll likely see conversions jump up in proportion with how much traffic those pages receive. If your page receives no hits at all, though, don't worry about wasting time on call-to-actions; just focus on getting that page more traffic instead!

The way you manage backlinks matters

The more backlinks you have, you can get a massive increase in your ranking on search engines. The way backlinks are managed is also crucial: if they are not optimized properly, Google will think that these links are unnatural links.

This can lead to a decrease in ranking on Google's search engine results page (SERP). That is why it is important to use Yoast SEO with its tools for adding backlinks. With Yoast SEO, you can decide how you want to manage your backlinks. And while we're at it, don't forget to check out our latest update!

Optimize your site's headings structure with H1s, H2s, H3s, etc.

When you start getting into more advanced on-page SEO techniques, you'll hear a lot about HTML headings, or h tags. The heading structure of your page is super important to Google because it gives them a lot of information about what your page is about.

If your page has a clear hierarchy (H1 > H2 > H3), it shows that you're knowledgeable about how to properly use headings, which in turn boosts your credibility. You'll also see higher rankings for keywords in specific headings because they signal relevance to Google.

Think in h tags! (We've even got an ebook called Yoast SEO Tips & Tricks that dives into deeper detail on using h tags.)
